Jennifer Dean

Studio Director

Jennifer is a Victorian based dancer / teacher who has trained in all genres including Jazz, Tap, Contemporary / Lyrical, Hip Hop and Ballet. With 15 years teaching experience she has had the opportunity and pleasure of educating and mentoring students of all ages and assisting them through their dance journey and beyond.

Jennifer completed the majority of her Dance training in Canberra under the direction of Jackie Hallahan at Dance Development Centre and under Michelle Chapman at Dance Co. Canberra. Jennifer then went on to complete her Diploma in Dance Performance with Dance World Studios in Melbourne and graduated in 2005. She then went on to teach for multiple schools across Melbourne, this is when she discovered her love teaching others.

15 years later in 2020 she finds herself pursuing a long-awaited dream of owning her own dance school. Kiewa Valley Dance is a result of this and she is beyond excited to watch the school grow and share her passion for dance with the community.

Matilda Slatter

Matilda Slatter

Jnr Hip Hop Teacher

Matilda has been learning dancing since she was 10 years old, training in Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, Funk and Acrobatics at Alison Marshall’s All That Jazz dance school in country Victoria. At the age of 13 she became an assistant teacher and at 16 was teaching classes at the school. She moved to Melbourne in 1998 to study full time dance at the Dance Factory where she gained a certificate 3 in Commercial Dance and Performance.

Over the years she has continued to study other styles of dance including Hip Hop, Belly Dancing, Salsa, Street Latin and Tango.
Matilda has taught Jazz and Hip Hop dance classes for several years in Melbourne. She was also a member of Flare Dance Company, where she danced and choreographed many contemporary dance pieces.
Matilda’s knowledge of dance, physiology and bio-mechanics is a unique combination, having also studied and established herself as a Fitness and Group Exercise instructor, Personal Trainer, Mat Pilates and Yoga instructor.
